The Dominican University women's basketball team opened the 2014-2015 home schedule on Thursday evening, falling to the visiting Kalamazoo College Hornets, 90-52, despite a double-double from sophomore
Sidney Montano (Bensenville, Ill.).
Montano finished with ten points and ten rebounds in 38 minutes of work. The Stars' forward shot 3-for-8 from the field and 4-for-7 from the foul line.
Kalamazoo opened the game on a 10-2 run and never trailed in the win. Emily Lindsay paced the Hornets with 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting, including connecting on four of six attempts from beyond the three-point stripe.
The Stars, now 0-3 on the season, will hit the road, traveling up to Albion, Michigan, to take on the Albion College Britons on Tuesday. The game is slated for a 6:00 p.m. EST tipoff.
