The Dominican University men's basketball team came up short against the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) leading Aurora University Spartans on Wednesday night, falling 80-68 in the Igini Sports Forum in River Forest.

Sophomore guard
Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) scored his first double-double of the season with 20 points and ten rebounds in the losing effort. Mayberry scored 14 in the second half as the Stars tried to erase a nine-point halftime deficit.

Quinn Pokora (Mundelein, Ill.) added 18 points for the Stars in the losing effort.

Aurora was paced by Kyle Pillmer's 17 points. Pillmer led four in double-figures scoring for the Spartans. Brandon Smith dropped in 15 points, shooting 4-for-9 from three, while Gavin Walker and Kalmon Stokes added 14 and 12 respectively.

The Stars held a slight advantage on the glass, 41-38, but Dominican committed 19 turnovers while forcing 13 turnovers.

The loss drops Dominican to 0-8 on the season, 0-5 in the NACC. The Stars will host the MSOE Raiders on Saturday for a 4:15 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
