The Dominican University men's basketball fell to the Lake Forest College Foresters, 76-49, in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Monday afternoon. The Stars managed to shoot just 32.7 percent from the field while getting out-rebounded 51-31.
Dominican kept the game close in the early going, trailing just 21-16 after
Ryan Modiest's (Joliet, Ill.) three with 11:44 to play in the first but then endured a 4:42 scoreless stretch while the Foresters' built up a 27-15 lead.
Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) led the Stars with 14 points in 30 minutes of work.
Kevin Fervil (Plainfield, Ill.) added eight points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
Quinn Pokora (Mundelein, Ill.), the Stars' second-leading scorer on the season at 12.9 points per game entering the day, was held scoreless for the first time this season.
For the Foresters, Danny Nikitas led four in double-figures with a game-high 18 points. Nikitas shot 7-for-9 from the field, including 4-for-5 from three, as the Foresters shot 42.4 percent from the field in the game.
Dominican will return to action on Tuesday, taking on the Greensboro College Pride at 7:30 p.m. EST.
