The Dominican University women's basketball team fell to the Rockford University Regents 78-59 on Wednesday night in the Igini Sports Forum. Dominican got a season-high 19 points from
Haley Kroll (Nenana, Ala.) in the losing effort while
Shamia Clark (Rock Island, Ill.) and
Sidney Montano (Bensenville, Ill.) added 11 and ten points respectively off the bench.
The Stars limited their turnovers in the second half, committing just five turnovers over the final 20 minutes, but managed to shoot just 18 percent (6-for-32) after shooting 34 percent from the field in the first half.
Kroll was 7-for-11 from the foul line as Dominican converted on 23 of its 33 attempts from the charity stripe.
The Regents were led by Diamond Williams who scored 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field.
The Stars, now 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), head up to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on Saturday to take on the Lakeland College Muskies. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m.
