Box Score The Dominican University men's basketball team gave up 19 offensive rebounds leading to 29 second chance points in an 83-59 loss to the Benedictine University Eagles on Tuesday night in the Igini Sports Forum.
Dominican trailed just 41-33 at the break but were outscored 23-8 over the first ten minutes of the second half as the Eagles opened up an insurmountable 23-point lead, 64-41 with 9:48 to play.
The Stars did get a game-high 20 points from senior
Taylor DeRoo (Holland, Mich.) on 7-for-11 shooting from the field. DeRoo was also a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line.
The Eagles, paced by Tim McGinty and Michael Woolf, shot 46 percent from the field, including going 10-for-20 from beyond the three-point arc. McGinty finished with 16 points, scoring 12 in the first half, while Woolf dropped in 15, going 5-for-7 from three.
Dominican falls to 4-19 with the loss and 3-15 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Stars will close out their 2013-2014 home schedule on Saturday, playing host the MSOE Raiders for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
