The Dominican University women's volleyball team traveled down to Bloomington, Illinois, for the weekend, going 3-1 at the Barker Chevrolet Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Stars topped Knox College and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology both in three sets on Friday and then started Saturday with a three-set win over Anderson University before falling to the host IWU Titans in their final match of the tournament in three sets.
Dominican's
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) was named to the All-Tournament Team, averaging 12.6 assists per set along with 3.33 digs per set. Wilson posted three double-doubles for the tournament, including a 49 assists and 13 digs in the win over Rose-Hulman.
The Stars now stand at 9-6 on the season and return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Wednesday night, traveling to Rockford to take on the Rockford College Regents. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start. Dominican then heads to Dubuque, Iowa, for the IIAC-NACC crossover where the Stars will meet the top four teams from the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at Loras on Friday and Saturday.
