The Dominican University women's basketball team fell in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Edgewood College Eagles, 76-57, in the Igini Sports Forum. Three Stars reached double-figures scoring in the losing effort, including
Shamia Clark (Rock Island, Ill.) and
Jasmyn Hardin (Cincinnati, Ohio) who scored 13 and 12 points respectively while pulling down ten rebounds apiece as the Stars got two double-doubles in a game for the first time this season.
Claudia DeNigris (Addison, Ill.) added 11 points off the Stars' bench. The sophomore guard also pulled down eight rebounds in 24 minutes.
The Eagles, who pulled a game above .500 in the NACC, were paced by Sierra Jiran and Jazmin Little who combined for 27 points off the Eagles' bench. Jiran finished with 14 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds while scored 13 on 4-for-8 shooting from the field, including knocking down three three-point field goals.
The Stars will travel to Aurora University on Wednesday to take on the Spartans in a NACC tilt. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
