The Dominican University women's basketball team fell in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Marian University Sabres 73-52 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

With the Stars leading 13-6, the Sabres went on a 18-2 run to build a nine point lead of their own with 8:35 to play in the first half and never looked back. Marian led 41-25 at the break and led by as many as 21 during the second half including the 73-52 final.

Allie Tapanes (Winfield, Ill.) scored a game-high 16 points for the Stars in the losing effort, dropping in 11 points in the second half on 4-for-9 shooting from the field, including three three-point field goals.Â
Shamia Clark (Rock Island, Ill.) added 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Stars while
Sidney Montano (Bensenville, Ill.) and
Danielle McGruder (Plano, Texas) added nine points apiece.

The Stars shot better than 37 percent from the field but turned the ball over 27 times leading to 32 points off of turnovers for the Sabres.

Dominican, now 1-19 on the season and 0-15 in the NACC, return to the court on Tuesday, hosting the Alverno College Inferno for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
