Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Topped In NACC Action

The Dominican University women's soccer team suffered their first setback in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday, falling to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 4-0 in Mequon, Wisconsin.

The Falcons overpowered the Stars, peppering the Dominican goal with 24 shots, putting seven on frame and finding the back of the goal for the first time in the 32nd minute for what proved to be the game-winner.

Freshman Pamela Ruiz (Dallas, Texas) and Sara Stepanovich (Des Plaines, Ill.) gave up two goals apiece as they split the match in goal, logging 45 minutes apiece.

"We played a tough opponent in Concordia Wisconsin," commented Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' second-year head coach, following the match.  "We attempted to execute our game plan going into the match and we struggled to adjust to their offensive potency.  While it was a tough loss, we will learn from this match and get back to work to get better."

The Stars are now 9-5-0 overall and 7-1-0 in the NACC.  Dominican will host IIT on Tuesday in non-conference action.  Kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. on the Stars' West Campus pitch.
