The Dominican University women's tennis hit the road on Saturday, falling to the Edgewood College Eagles, 9-0, in Madison, Wisconsin. The loss drops the Stars to 2-11 on the season and 2-7 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with one match remaining on Dominican's fall schedule.
After Edgewood swept doubles action, Dominican's
Gabriella Curran (Elmhurst, Ill.) took the first set at number four singles, 6-4 over Edgewood's Haley Brooks. However, Brooks rallied to take the second set, 6-2 before edging Curran in the tie-breaking third set, 10-8.
The Eagles took the rest of the singles flights in straight sets to earn the shutout.
Dominican closes out the 2015 Fall season on Monday, hosting their neighborhood rivals, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars for a 4:00 p.m. match in Forest Park.
