The Dominican University men's basketball team took a break from Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Monday night, returning from Galesburg, Illinois, with an 83-75 win over the Knox College Prairie Fire.

Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) continued his standout junior season, dropping in a game-high 23 points while adding ten rebounds, eight assists and five steals in 38 minutes of action.

With the score tied at 57-57 with eight minutes to play, Dominican went on a 10-0 run that spanned 1:14 and was bookended by three's by
Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) and
Derek Steck (New Berlin, Wis.).

From there the Stars never trailed, leading by as many as 12 in the final two minutes.

"It was a nice win for the guys tonight," commented Dominican's head coach
Mark White following the game, "especially coming on the road. We have been close a few times this year and it was great to see the guys hang together and finish this one off."

For the Stars, Robertson added a season-high 20 points while
Kevin Mack (Detroit, Mich.) chipped in 12. Freshman
Antonio Amoah (Chicago, Ill.) came off the bench to grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and scored nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field.

As a team, Dominican shot 38.6 percent from the field (27-for-70), including connecting on nine of 29 attempts from three-point distance. The Stars converted on 20 of 26 trips to the foul line and forced 27 turnovers, leading to 29 points off of turnovers.

For Knox, Caylab Herrera scored a team-high 22 points as the Prairie Fire shot 45 percent (27-for-60) from the field.

Dominican, now 1-6 on the season, will enjoy a two-week break before their next contest at Colorado College on December 29 as the Stars take on the host Colorado College Tigers at 7:00 p.m. MT.
