The Dominican University men's volleyball team traveled up to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on Wednesday night, topping the Lakeland College Muskies in four sets (18-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23) in the Stars' regular season finale with the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) Tournament set for April 10 and 11 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Luke Spicer (St. Charles, Ill.) paced the #14 Stars' offensive attack but it was Dominican's ten total blocks that limited the Lakeland attack to a .165 attack percentage, more than .040 points below their season average of .211. Spicer got in on five total blocks (2 BS, 3 BA) to finish the match with 18.5 total points.

Alex Coyne (Naperville, Ill.) doled out 41 assists, finding eight different hitters, including
Brad McFarland (Tinley Park, Ill.) who terminated ten rallies.Â
Aidan Spangler (Western Springs, Ill.) and
Aidan Spangler (Western Springs, Ill.) added seven kills apiece for the Stars in the winning effort, as the Dominican offense posted a .220 attack percentage with 50 kills on 127 attempts.

Defensively, Spicer and Solbrig led the charge with five total blocks apiece while
Robert Mead (Darien, Ill.) collected a team-high nine digs.

The Muskies had four attackers finish in double-figure kills, led by Alex Redlich, the MCVL leader in kills, who finished with 13 kills on 38 swings.

Dominican finishes the regular season at 15-10 overall, going 10-4 in the MCVL. The Stars will be the three-seed in the four-team MCVL Tournament, paired with the Mount St. Joseph University Lions for the semifinals. The match is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start on Friday, April 10, at Tarble Arena on the campus of Carthage College.Â
