The Dominican University women's tennis team dropped a pair of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) dual matches on Saturday to the visiting MSOE Raiders, 5-4, and the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons, 8-1.

The Stars trailed 2-1 after doubles action in the morning match against the Raiders. Freshman
Marina Sturgeon (Canfield, Ohio) and junior
Megan Hickey (Plainfield, Ill.) won at number one doubles in a tie-breaker, 9-8.

The Stars could then only muster three points in singles action with Sturgeon, Hickey and
Gabriella Curran (Elmhurst, Ill.) taking numbers two, three and five singles respectively.

Hickey went on to pick up the Stars' lone point in the loss to the Falcons, topping Sabine Jacobsen, 6-2, 7-5, at the number three singles flight.

The Stars now stand at 2-7 overall and 2-5 in the NACC. Dominican will head to Galesburg, Illinois, for a pair of non-conference dual matches next Saturday, taking on Judson University and Knox College.
