The Dominican University men's soccer team opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Wednesday evening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, playing the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors to a scoreless draw. The Stars had previously been 10-0-0 against the Warriors dating back to 2005.
"We got outplayed; we got outworked and we deserved to be tied tonight," said Dominican University's
Erick Baumann, the Stars' head men's soccer coach since 1995.
Wisconsin Lutheran held a slight, 14-13, advantage in shots and shots on goal, 6-5, but Dominican created more corner kick opportunities (7-4).
Gabriel Gongora (Naperville, Ill.) posted his second shutout of 2015, logging six saves along the way.
The Stars, now 3-2-2, return to their home pitch of West Campus Field in River Forest for a Saturday meeting with the Lakeland College Muskies. Kickoff is slated at 12:00 p.m.
