The Dominican University women's soccer team dominated the Lakeland College Muskies on Saturday afternoon at West Campus Field, peppering the Lakeland goal with 32 shots, putting 18 on frame, in a 5-0 shutout victory for the Stars.

With the win, Dominican moves to 2-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) and 4-3-0 overall. The Stars return to the West Campus pitch on Sunday, hosting the Lake Forest College Foresters for a noon kickoff in non-conference action.

For the Stars,
Kelli Iovino (Arlington Heights, Ill.) scored two goals, including the game-winner, to run her season total to seven goals.

"It was a good win for us," said Iovino after the match. "Once we got that first goal, we really started clicking and the players off the bench came in and did a lot for us."

Iovino's first strike came in the 27
th minute and opened the flood gates for Dominican. Iovino added another in the 35
th minute and
Lauren Zuro (Elmwood Park, Ill.) and
Alyssa Messina (Elgin, Ill.) added insurance markers before the first half ended.

Tania Paez (Chicago, Ill.) added her second goal of the season in the 54
th minute to round out the Stars' offensive onslaught.

Pamela Ruiz (Dallas, Texas) and
Vanessa Gonzalez (Chicago, Ill.) split time in goal for Dominican, facing two shots and one shot respectively to post the third shutout of the season for the Stars.
