The Dominican University men's basketball team came up short against the fourth-ranked Benedictine University Eagles on Wednesday evening, falling 91-67 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action.

Four minutes into the second half, the Eagles had opened up a 27-points, 55-28, lead before the Stars stormed back, using a 35-18 run that spanned nine minutes to pull within ten, 73-63, and was capped by
Antonio Amoah's (Chicago, Ill.)Â layup on the break.

However, the Stars went scoreless over the next 4:17 while Benedictine's Michael Blaszczyk buried a three on the Eagles' next possession to jumpstart a 16-0 run that put the game out of reach.

For the Stars,
Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes.Â
Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) added 16 while Amoah came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points.

For the Eagles, Blaszczyk and Adam Reynolds led six players in double-figures with 19 and 17 points respectively. Senior Lucas Johnson posted a double-double with ten points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

The loss drops Dominican to 2-13 on the season and 1-10 in NACC play. The Stars return to action on Saturday, traveling up to Madison, Wisconsin, to face the Edgewood College Eagles. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m.
