Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Blank Warriors For Fifth Straight Win

The Dominican University women's soccer team improved to 9-4-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) with a 3-0 win over the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors on the road Wednesday night.

The Stars ripped 21 shots in the match while allowing the Warriors to get off just four shots, controlling possession throughout much of the match.

Freshman Josseline Williams collected her team-leading tenth goal of the season, giving the Stars a 1-0 advantage in the 30th minute of play.

Still leading 1-0 into the 63rd minute, Tania Paez's cross found Jackie Viola who beat the Warriors' Hailey Krause to extend the Stars' lead to 2-0.  Then just 30 seconds later, freshman Alexis Hoskins netted an insurance goal to put the match out of reach.

"We played well," said Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head women's soccer coach. "We were organized and competed right from the start under some rough weather conditions. We created some good opportunities and scored three nice goals. I was very proud of our team and how we managed ourselves and worked together."

The win was the Stars' fifth straight victory with the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons coming to River Forest on Saturday.  Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at West Campus Field.
