The Dominican University women's volleyball team dropped back-to-back Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matches for the first time since October 2009, falling in four sets (27-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-13) to the Aurora University Spartans on Tuesday night.
Â
The Stars hit just .108 in the losing effort and committed 11 errors at the serving line without serving an ace. Conversely, the Spartans hit .203 while serving three aces with 11 errors.
Â
"We competed at times but not consistently," said
Jeanne Czipri, the Stars' head coach, following the loss. "It's hard to win a match with so many service errors without the aces to balance and not putting more attacks to the floor."
Â
Rosalyn Wyse led the Stars in the loss, knocking down 14 kills to go along with nine digs and a pair of block assists. Sophomore setter
Jackie Mursuli doled out 33 assists collected a team-high 16 digs.
Â
Dominican, now 8-17 overall and 6-3 in NACC play, returns home to the Igini Sports Forum for a 7:00 p.m. match on Friday night against the MSOE Raiders.
