The Dominican University men's basketball team tried to keep pace with the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) top scoring team, the Aurora University Spartans, on Tuesday evening, trailing just 60-54 before the Spartans went on a 16-0 run en route to a 99-79 win over the Stars.

For Dominican,
Kevin Mack (Detroit, Mich.) scored all of his team-high 16 points in the first half to lead four in double-figures.Â
Isaac Moore (Chicago, Ill.) added 13 points while
Derek Steck (New Berlin, Wis.) and
Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in 11 apiece in the losing effort.Â

The Stars shot better than 44 percent from the field as a team but Aurora hit at a 58 percent clip from the field, including going 12-for-23 from three-point range. Tyler Hall paced the Spartans with 24 points on 9-for-16 shooting.

The loss drops the Stars to 4-17 overall with four games to play. Dominican will be back in action on Thursday evening, traveling to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to take on the Marian University Sabres. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
