Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Stars Downed By Sabres

Dominican University's Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the second half but it was not enough as the Stars fell to the Marian University Sabres, 80-68, on Thursday night in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

The Stars struggled offensively in the first half, shooting just 25 percent (6-24) from the field and 54 percent (6-11) to score just 20 points in the opening period and trailed 34-20 at the break.

In the second half, the Stars' offense heated up, converting on 19 of 29 attempts from the field to shoot better than 65 percent but Sabres were nearly equally as impressive, shooting 15-for-27 from the field and converting on 13 of their 17 second-half attempts from the foul line to keep the Stars in a double-digit deficit.

Robertson shot 9-for-14 from the field and pulled down a game-high ten rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.  Dominican's Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) added 16 to move into 11th place on the Stars' all-time scoring list with 1,133 career points.

For the Sabres, Reggie Roemer led three in double-figures with 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field.

The Stars, now 4-18 on the season and 2-15 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), return to the Igini Sports Forum on Saturday, hosting the MSOE Raiders for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff before closing out the 2015-2016 campaign with games at Concordia Chicago and Wisconsin Lutheran next week.
