The Dominican University women's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday, falling to the Carroll University Pioneers 2-0 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

"It was an evenly played match," said
Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head women's soccer coach. "In the end, they finished on two of their three shots on goal and we couldn't capitalize on any of our four shots on goal."

The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead in the 16
th minute when Delaney Pruitt beat Dominican's
Vanessa Gonzalez for her first goal of the season. The sophomore then added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute to round out the scoring.

In total, the Stars managed six shots, putting four on frame while the Pioneers got off seven shots, putting three on goal.

The Stars, now 2-2-0 on the season, open Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday taking on the defending NACC Tournament champions, the MSOE Raiders in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
