With a bye from Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play this week, the Dominican University Stars took on the Beloit College Buccaneers on Sunday in Forest Park, topping the Buccaneers 8-1.
 
The Stars swept doubles play, including a dominant 8-1 win at number three doubles by Morganne Schmidt and Heidi Carvajal.
 
The duo then posted wins at number two and three singles respectively as the Stars swept flights one through five in singles action.  Schmidt topped the Buccaneers Alexandra Kurpiel 6-3, 6-0 while Carvajal rolled over Hayden Lamphere 6-1, 6-0.
 
With the win, Dominican improved to 2-6 on the year with another non-conference opponent on deck as the Stars travel to Ripon College on Tuesday, September 27, taking on the Red Hawks at 3:00 p.m.
