The Dominican University men's soccer team picked up its fourth consecutive shutout victory, trouncing the Concordia University Chicago Cougars 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in River Forest, Illinois. The win was the Stars' 11
th consecutive shutout against their neighborhood rivals with Dominican dominating the all-time series, posting a perfect 21-0-0 record against the Cougars with 17 shutouts after Wednesday's victory.
Nestor Ascencio picked up right where he left off last week, tallying two goals and logging a pair of assists in the win. It was Ascencio's goal in the 8
th minute that proved to be the game-winner and opened an offensive barrage for Dominican.

Frankie Saiz all had first half strikes for the Stars as Dominican opened a 4-0 lead at the half.
Seven minutes into the second half, Ascencio notched his third goal of the season, putting the Stars ahead 5-0 in the 53
rd minute. Ascencio then assisted on the Stars' final two goals of the match, strikes by
Alex Rohder and Francisco Nava-Saenz.
"The guys did a nice job executing the game plan for 90 minutes," commented Erick Baumann after his team's 4
th win of the season.
Dominican controlled the stat sheet throughout the match, boasting a 23-5 advantage in shots and 11-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Stars peppered the Cougars' goal with ten shots on frame while Concordia Chicago managed just one shot on goal, turned away by
Gabriel Gongora, Dominican's senior goalkeeper who lowered his season goals against average to 0.73 while posting his fifth shutout of the season.
Dominican, now 4-2-2 on the season and 3-0-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), will head to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on Saturday to take on the Marian University Sabres. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
