Freshman Ethan Klosak continued his impressive start to his collegiate career, knocking down ten kills in the morning match before collecting 14 in the matinee.  The rookie hit .389 on 18 swings against CCSJ before hitting .370 on 27 attempts in the win over Illinois Tech.  Nick Timreck was equally impressive, totaling 12 kills on 16 swings over the pair of victories without committing a single error.

Alex Coyne ran the offense to the tune of 69 assists in six sets, dishing out 29 in the win over the Crimson Wave before tallying 40 assists in the win over the Scarlet Hawks.  Behind Coyne, the Stars hit .376 on the day, totaling 77 kills to 22 errors on 146 total attacks.

Defensively, Dominican dominated the net, posting eight total blocks in the win over Illinois Tech after tallying nine total blocks in the win over the Crimson Wave.  Timreck was in on nine blocks while Luke Spicer collected seven blocks on the day.

"It was nice to get two wins today," said Dan Ames. "We were able to work on some things with the guys and continued to get better. We have to continue to work on limiting our peaks and valleys and find a steady level to play at."

The Stars, now 3-1 on the season, open Midwest College Volleyball League (MCVL) play on Friday, traveling to Lisle, Illinois, to meet the Benedictine University Eagles.  The match marks the start of seven straight conference matches that span from February 3 through February 24.
