The Dominican University women's volleyball team hit the road on Wednesday night, picking up a 3-1 (26-24, 15-25, 25-18, 25-17) over the North Park University Vikings in non-conference play. With the win, the Stars improve to 13-10 on the year and return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Friday in Milwaukee, taking on the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors.

"North Park came to fight for a win tonight and definitely put us back on our heels during the second set," said Dominican's Brittany Sisk following the win. "I'm proud of the choice our team made tonight to set the pace in the third set before finishing the match in the fourth."

"Our bench was a huge part of that momentum change going into the third set," continued Sisk. "They did a great job of pushing those on the floor to fight harder."

After Dominican hit just .118 with seven errors to 11 kills in the second frame, the Stars offense recovered in the third set, converting at a .314 clip with 14 kills to just three errors on 35 swings. Dominican's offense stayed hot in the clinching set, knocking down 12 kills to three errors while the Stars' defense limited the Vikings to a .097 attack percentage in the fourth set, posting four blocks to force seven errors for the Vikings.

Freshman
Anastasia Labadessa ran the offense to a .220 attack percentage for the night, dishing out 34 assists. Senior
Kendyl Todd paced the attack, knocking down 12 kills on 25 attempts while
Elin Ream,
Stephanie Cole and Labadessa added nine kills apiece.Â

Defensively, Dominican posted nine total blocks and collected 67 digs to hold the Vikings to a .147 attack percentage and force 23 errors. Cole, Ream and Todd tallied four total blocks apiece while the back row effort saw three reach double digit kills led by
Megan Parker with 19 digs.Â
Gillian Jones and
Summer Smith added 13 and 12 digs respectively, while Labadessa added eight digs in the all-around effort.

For the Vikings, Lauren Wiltsie finished with a team-high 12 kills while Kajsa Meyer collected 39 assists.Â
