Stars Dominate Cougars

The Dominican University women's tennis team picked up a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) win on Wednesday evening, topping the Concordia Chicago Cougars 9-0 on the Cougars' home courts.

The Stars picked up two points in doubles play including an 8-3 win at number two doubles by Dominican's
Anusha Mody and
Sharon Neiza.

"Consistency and smart tennis were the keys today," said head coach
Troy Tonsil. "Beginning with one doubles through four singles, the ladies played with poise, precision, and took advantage of the opportunities presented to them."

Singles play saw four Stars pick up individual victories, including freshman
Anusha Mody recording her first singles victory of the year.

"Though we were shorthanded today, it was impressive to see each team and individual come away with a win," stated Tonsil. "We will focus on taking this momentum into the final stretch of conference play."

The Stars travel to Aurora University on Friday, October 6
th for a 3:00 p.m. start, followed by a quick trip up to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 7th to take on Alverno College.
