The Dominican University women's soccer team played to their second consecutive draw in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play, playing the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons to a scoreless draw in a soaking rain in Mequon, Wisconsin, on Saturday afternoon.
Â
"We defended well and had a few clear opportunities but did not finish," said Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head coach. "The weather conditions made it tough for both teams but I was proud of our team and how we managed the situation."
Â
Both sides managed to put four shots on goal with Dominican's
Abbey Brown and Concordia Wisconsin's Tabitha Ortiz logging four saves apiece. For Brown, the shutout was her eighth clean sheet of the season, lowering her NACC-leading goals against average to 0.51.
Â
The Stars had a slight, 12-9 advantage in shots, and out-corner kicked the Falcons, 6-4.
Â
The Stars, now 11-0-3 on the season, continue to make their way through the NACC slate with the Aurora University Spartans coming to River Forest on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Stars' West Campus Field.
