After splitting a pair of matches in the NACC-IIAC Challenge on Friday, the Dominican University women's volleyball team responded on Saturday, scoring a three-set (25-20, 25-14, 25-23) victory over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves before slipping past the Coe College Kohawks in five sets (25-12, 16-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-8). The wins push the Stars to 7-8 on the year with a return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on the schedule for Wednesday when the Stars travel to Rockford University to meet the Regents.

Kendyl Todd knocked down a total of 34 kills in the wins, collecting a match-high 20 kills in the win over Coe and a team-high 14 kills as Dominican topped Nebraska Wesleyan. For the day, Todd hit .534, committing just three errors on 58 total attacks, leading Dominican to a .172 attack percentage for the day.
"We came in with a winning mindset today," said Dominican's head coach Brittany Sisk. "We jumped out on teams and when they pushed back…so did we."
"The discipline we played with allowed our front row to execute when they had the opportunity. Kendyl ending the day with 20 kills against a good Coe team is a perfect example of that."
The wins help the Stars climb within a game of .500 on the season at 7-8 with four conference matches over the next two weeks.
"We fought back from multiple deficits this weekend," continued Sisk. "The team should be incredibly proud of how they came together this weekend. The poise and the trust they played with was the best we have seen yet."
