The Dominican University men's basketball team could not overcome a slow start in a 74-56 loss at Edgewood College on Tuesday night, dropping the Stars to 4-9 overall and 2-7 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
The Stars managed just two field goals over the first 13 minutes, falling behind by 23 points, 28-5, a hole Dominican could not dig out of despite outscoring the Eagles 40-30 in the second half.
After shooting less than 23-percent (7-31) from the field in the first half, Dominican managed to convert at a 50-percent (17-34) clip in the second half.
Tim Robertson led the Stars with 14 points in the loss while freshman
Jackson Smith added ten in his fourth start of the season. Sophomore
Sean Ek added nine points off the Dominican bench in the losing effort.
Edgewood shot better than 53-percent (31-58) from the field in the win, led by Travis Kell's 25 points in 25 minutes.
The Stars have a quick return to action, returning home to host the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff at the Igini Sports Forum on Thursday.
