The Dominican University men's basketball team fell 69-49 to the MSOE Raiders in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Igini Sports Forum. The loss drops the Stars to 4-10 on the season and 2-8 in league play while the Raiders kept pace atop the NACC standings, improving to 10-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference.
Dominican found itself in a 26-point hole at the half after shooting just 16-percent (4-25) in the first half. The Stars outscored the Raiders 37-31 over the final 20 minutes of play but could not overcome the early deficit.
Domenic Aiello led the Stars with 16 points off the bench in the losing effort. The junior shot 6-for-12 from the field, including 4-for-8 from three, in 26 minutes of work.
Jonny Woolf also came off the Stars' bench to add 13 points.
For the Raiders, Matthew Kirmse led three in double-figures, dropping in a game-high 21 points on 7-for-16 shooting. Nolan Henton added 13 points while Jason Palesse scored 11 and added four assists.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday, hosting the Benedictine University Eagles for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff at the Igini Sports Forum.
