Stars Run Out Of Steam Against Falcons

The Dominican University men's basketball team overcame a 20-point deficit, evening the score at 64-64 before the visiting Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons rallied for a 75-68 win at the Igini Sports Forum on Saturday afternoon.  The loss drops the Stars to 5-18 on the season and 3-15 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) with two games to play.

Rory Cunningham's three with 3:05 to play capped a 30-9 run for Dominican that spanned 10:37 of game time, evening the score for the first time since the opening tip.

The Falcons, shooting better than 46-percent from the field in the game, stopped the run, holding Dominican to just four points the rest of the way while going 3-for-3 from the field the rest of the way and converting on five of seven trips to the foul line down the stretch.

For Dominican, Tim Robertson dropped in a game-high 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting and pulled down ten rebounds for his second double-double of the season.  Domenic Aiello and Antonio Amoah combined for 19 off the Stars' bench.  Aiello managed ten points, going 2-for-7 from three, while Amoah scored nine points and grabbed four boards all in the second half.

For the Falcons, Jordan Johnson led three in double-figures with 16 points.  Noah Gosse added 14 while Josh Hau chipped in 11.

Dominican travels to Aurora for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff on Wednesday before closing out the season next Saturday, hosting the Rockford University Regents.
