In the second of three preseason scrimmages, the Dominican University men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Wheaton College Thunder on Thursday night at Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton, Illinois.
 
"Tonight's match was another opportunity to test ourselves against a very good side," said Erick Baumann, the Stars' head men's soccer coach. "We gave up two goals we should have been better on and were also very ineffective in the final third. Our individual and collective execution of our game wasn't there tonight."
 
"With that said, we had a handful of quality individual performances from [Corbin] Voyles, [Alex] Lulek, [Ethan] Grosam, [Daniel] Dominguez and [Marco] Sanchez…their play really stood out this evening."
 
The Stars will have one more tune-up, hosting the Millikin University Big Blue, for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday before the matches start for the 2018 regular season on Friday, August 31, with Illinois College visiting Dominican in River Forest for a 4:00 p.m. start.
