The Dominican University women's soccer team continued to roll, picking up a 4-0 win over the visiting Marian University Sabres at West Campus Field on Saturday afternoon, improving to 7-2-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The win was the Stars' seventh straight shutout victory after starting the season with back-to-back losses.

"I was very pleased with the way we played today," said Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head coach. "We came out with a lot of intensity and excitement…we were solid defensively; stayed organized throughout the match and defended well. Offensively, we were click and scored some really nice goals. This was a great team win for us on a great homecoming day."

Josseline Williams opened the scoring in the fifth minute of play, ripping a shot from the top of the 18-yard box that beat Marian's Danielle Deltgen for what proved to be the game-winning goal. Williams had collected a loose ball near the top of the box before taking a touch to her right to create a shooting lane. The conference's leading scorer needed just the slightest separation to put in her 14
th of the season.

Dominican added two more before halftime with
Holli Cochran placing a ball inside the near post and just out of the reach of Deltgen in the 13
th minute before
Maggie McClure closed out the first half with a beautiful shot inside the far post upper-90 in the 42
nd minute.

The Stars added an insurance tally in the second half when
Ashleigh Huerta won a foot race before carrying towards the endline. The freshman then laid a centering pass back for Williams who placed a shot in the side netting inside the far post.

The Stars completely dominated the stat sheet, firing 32 shots to the Sabres two, putting 15 shots on goal without surrendering a shot on frame. Dominican also out-cornered the Sabres, 11-1.

Abbey Brown logged the 90 minutes in goal for Dominican to pick up her fourth shutout victory of the season.

Dominican will continue to navigate NACC action on Wednesday, hosting the MSOE Raiders, the 2017 regular season champions, for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff in River Forest.
