The Dominican University women's soccer team keeps on rolling, running their winning streak to nine with a 4-0 win at Lakeland University on Saturday evening in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Freshman
Holli Cochran notched her third hat trick in the win, collecting three goals to push her season total to 11.
Dominican dominated possession throughout the match, firing 24 shots, including 18 on frame, while not surrendering a shot to Muskies. The shutout was the ninth of the season for Dominican and first for senior goalkeeper
Pamela Ruiz who played all 90 minutes in goal.
"We came out with good possession and controlled the tempo of the match," said Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' fifth-year head coach. "We scored four nice goals and came away with another good team win."
Cochran opened the game's scoring in the 11
th minute before scoring a pair of late goals to seal the victory.
Daniela Tovar-Miranda scored the Stars' other goal, scoring off a corner kick in the 77
th minute.
The Stars, now 9-2-0 on the year and 4-0-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play, head to Lisle, Illinois, on Wednesday to battle the Benedictine University Eagles. Match time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
