Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Crush Muskies

The Dominican University women's soccer team closed out a stretch of three matches in four days with a convincing 8-0 win over the Lakeland University Muskies at West Campus Field on Saturday afternoon.  With the win, the Stars improve to 12-1-0 overall and a perfect 7-0-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) to sit alone atop the league standings with five matches to play.

"It's been a long stretch of three games in four days," commented Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head women's soccer coach. "That's tough for any team to go through. I am proud of our team and how we handled this stretch, especially coming out of it with three wins. We look forward to a little rest and recovery before preparing for our next match."

Dominican had three players with multiple goals, including Ashleigh Huerta who scored the eventual game-winner in the 11th minute of play.  Josseline Williams netted her third hat trick of the season and has scored multiple goals in each of Dominican's last four matches, scoring ten goals during the stretch.

Regan Coxon knocked in two goals of her own while Denisse Avila capped the game's scoring in the 81st minute.

Dominican possessed the ball for 70-percent of the match, managing 36 shots while not allowing the Muskies any room to get off a shot.

Rachel Huser picked up the shutout in goal, their tenth of the season.

Dominican returns to the pitch on Wednesday, hosting the Benedictine University Eagles for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff at West Campus Field.
