The Dominican University women's basketball team scored an 82-40 win over the Hendrix College Warriors to open play at the Rhodes Classic on Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tennessee.  The Stars outscored the Warriors 46-15 in the first half and never looked back.
 
Timiya Ray and Alexis Hoskins powered the offense, combining for 33 points on 11-for-21 shooting from the field.  Ray finished with a game-high 17 points in 25 minutes and pulled down 16 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.  The Hammond, Indiana, native shot 7-for-14 from the field.  Hoskins dropped in 16 points in 27 minutes, converting on eight of 11 attempts from the foul line.  The senior added eight rebounds, five steals and three assists in an all-around effort.
 
In total nine players got into the scoring column for the Stars. Alessandra Cappussi came off the bench to score ten points in 25 minutes.
 
The Stars limited Hendrix to just eight field goals for the game.  Ali Isbell finished with a team-high eight points on 3-for-7 shooting.  The Warriors did make 33 trips to the foul line, going 20-for-33 at the charity stripe.
 
Dominican, now 2-0, returns to action in Memphis on Sunday, taking on the host Rhodes College Lynx at 12:00 p.m.  The Stars then return home to River Forest, opening Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday when the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons visit Dominican in River Forest.
