Box Score 2 The Dominican University men's tennis team climbed back to .500 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play at 2-2, picking up a pair of conference victories on Saturday in Wisconsin, topping the Marian University Sabres 7-2 before shutting out the Lakeland College Muskies, 9-0. The Stars now stand at 4-3 overall with a non-conference tilt against the Elmhurst College Bluejays on the docket for Wednesday.
"It was a great day of tennis overall," commented Troy Tonsil, the Stars' head coach, following the wins. "It started with great energy and attention to detail in the morning win over Marian. We were locked in and ready to go, setting the tone early with a win at number two doubles to open a 2-1 lead, and that carried through to singles play."
"The morning's energy and intensity carried over into the afternoon," continued Tonsil. "I was very impressed with our ability to bounce back from a tough weekend last week. It was very important for us to get back to .500 in the conference."
