The Dominican University men's basketball team improved to 11-13 on the season and 7-12 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) in playing the role of spoiler for the MSOE Raiders who looked to wrap up a spot in the NACC Men's Basketball Tournament, handing the Raiders a 68-63 loss on the road in Milwaukee Tuesday night.

"This was a great road win," said
Mark White, the Stars' head men's basketball coach. "MSOE is always a tough place to win but the team brought great energy and effort on both ends of the floor."

With the game tied 27-27 with just over five minutes to play in the first half, the Stars used a 14-2 run to open a 12-point, 41-29, lead at the break.

Dominican built the lead all the way up to 15 when
Braquan Echols knocked down a three with 15:42 to play but the Raiders managed to erase the deficit and momentarily take a 57-56 lead when Ty Miklowski hit the back end of a two-shot foul, capping a 23-8 run for the Raiders that spanned nearly nine minutes.

After the teams traded buckets and leads for the next three possessions, Dominican pulled away down the stretch, using an 8-3 run over the game's final 4:39 to pull out the victory.

Tyler Guest scored a game-high 23 points on 11-for-14 shooting from the field and pulled down ten rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season to lead the Stars in the win. Guest scored six of his 23 after the break, shooting 7-for-8 from the field, including knocking down a three that broke a 60-60 tie and gave the Stars the lead for good in the final four minutes of play.

Jackson Smith added 12 points for the Stars in the winning effort.

Dominican shot over 48-percent from the field in the win while limiting the Raiders to just .407 shooting from the field.

Matthew Kirmse led three in double-figures scoring for the Raiders, shooting 7-for-18 from the field and going 6-for-6 at the foul line.

Dominican will cap the 2019-2020 season on Saturday, hosting the Lakeland University Muskies. Tipoff in the season finale is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Igini Sports Forum.
