The Dominican University women's basketball team suffered a 73-45 setback to the Edgewood College Eagles on Wednesday night in Madison, Wisconsin. The loss drops the Stars to 14-7 overall and 10-6 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
"Tonight was very frustrating," commented
Amanda Parker, the Stars' head coach. "We didn't execute our game plan at all. We had some good moments individually, but collectively, we did not click. We have a lot of work to do if we want to be able to compete with the top teams in the conference."
The Stars, led by
Amari Stafford's 14 points, shot just over 32-percent from the field (20-62) and lost the battle on the glass, 52-35. The Eagles managed to pull down 21 boards on the offensive end, leading to 23 second chance points and turned 16 Dominican turnovers into 24 points.
Dominican will look to correct course on Saturday, traveling to nearby Illinois Tech for a 4:15 p.m. tipoff against the Scarlet Hawks in Chicago.
