RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's soccer program notched a 1-0 victory at home on Wednesday, defeating Aurora University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. 
 
Both sides battled in the opening 45 minutes, but neither could break the deadlock on a wet West Campus Field. DU came out with more energy in the second half and got onto the scoresheet in the 55th minute.  A long ball from Alexandria Canarelli played Regan Coxon on goal, of which she chipped the charging keeper to put Dominican up 1-0. 
 
The Stars created a few more good scoring opportunities in the second half, but could not convert as the half progressed. Ashley Ishman earned the shutout in goal, playing all 90 minutes of action. DU outshot AU 16-5 and had four corners compared to the Spartans' one.  
 
The match start was delayed approximately an hour due to lightning and heavy rains in the area. 
 
Dominican will face off with NACC-leading Concordia-Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 16 at home at noon. Live coverage will be available via dustars.com.
