RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's volleyball program got back on the right track on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Marian University on the road in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
Dominican's attack was very effective all afternoon as the Stars dispatched the Sabres by set scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-14, respectively. As a team, DU hit .355 with 42 kills, posting 14 or more kills in two of three frames.
Emily Schellhase led the offensive effort with 15 kills while
Maya Green joined her in double-figures with 12.
Gabija Sinickaite was also efficient on the attacking end with nine kills at a blistering .444 clip.
Adeleen Dunker dished out 38 assists to pace the attack.
On the defensive end, three Stars had double-digit digs led by
Sarah Lychock's 12.
Summer Smith and Schellhase both chipped in 11 as Schellhase recorded a double-double.
DU has now won 3-of-4 in NACC play and will look to continue its surge on Friday, Oct. 15 at home, taking on Edgewood College. First serve is at 7 p.m.
