RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team was bested by Illinois College on the road in the opening game of the Bill Merris Tournament on Friday evening.
The Stars trailed early and could not overcome that deficit, falling 86-57 in non-conference action. DU was led by
Chris Daniels II, who racked up 13 points, four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes of play.
Robert Taylor was the second Star in double-figures with 12 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes.
John Duszynski led the bench effort with seven points, knocking down both of his attempts from deep.
Gavin Richardson also had two triples off the bench.
Dominican will take on Blackburn in its final game of the Bill Merris Tournament, hosted by Illinois College, tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.
