Men's Basketball's Comeback Bid Falls Short at Blackburn

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team fell in its final contest of the Bill Merris Tournament on Saturday, suffering a 105-88 loss to Blackburn in non-conference play. 
 
Dominican trailed 58-28 at the half, but outscored Blackburn 60-47 in a second-half comeback attempt. Jackson Smith scored a game-high 29 points, knocking down five threes while adding six rebounds and four assists. Robert Taylor had another solid outing with 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting. Taylor was named to the all-tournament team for DU.  
 
Andre Hughes and Jacob Riedl also were in double-figures, chipping in 10 points each. The Stars will take on Maranatha Baptist at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 in Watertown, Wis. Links to live coverage will be available via dustars.com.
