RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's basketball team was defeated by Webster University in its season-opening game on the road on Friday evening.
Webster raced out to an early lead and never looked back, downing the Stars 91-48.
Stephenee Huggans led the way for Dominican 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting, adding seven made free throws.
Mackenzie Coleman and
Alisha Markley chipped in nine and eight points, respectively, in support. Markley also had a team-high four steals to lead the defensive effort.
Dominican outrebounded Webster 39-30 as a team and had seven second-chance points. The Stars have a quick turnaround, facing off with Fontbonne at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 13.
