Women's Soccer Headed to NACC Finals After Road Win at MSOE

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's soccer team defeated MSOE on the road on Wednesday evening 2-1 to advance to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament final.

DU jumped out to an early advantage in the 6th minute as a cross found Sophia Bartridge just outside the six-yard box and she slotted it into the lower left corner. Both sides battled for the entirety of the back-and-forth first half, but the score was 1-0 in Dominican's favor at the break.

After 15 scoreless minutes to open the second half, MSOE equalized in the 59th minute, setting the stage for a thrilling finish. A Stars' cross was headed home by Regan Coxon in the 78th minute to put DU ahead to stay. Dominican's backline held firm for the final 12 minutes and third-seeded DU pulled off the road victory over second-seeded MSOE, avenging their only regular season blemish.

Dominican will host fourth-seeded Illinois Tech on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. on West Campus Field, as it is now the highest-remaining seed. Live coverage will be available on dustars.com.
