RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team was defeated in its season opener at Knox College 81-59 on Friday night in non-conference play. 
 
DU was down 39-30 at the halftime break, but could not mount a comeback as the Prairie Fire outscored the Stars 42-29 in the final 20 minutes. Chris Daniels II led Dominican with 10 points while John Duszynski added nine, on three triples, off the bench. 16 Stars saw playing time in the game with Dominican having 13 different scores.
 
The Stars continue their non-conference slate at the Bill Merris Tournament next weekend on Nov. 12-13, taking Illinois College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
