Stars Erupt for Six Goals in Win

Rockford, IL – The Dominican University men's soccer team traveled to Rockford to take on the Regents in a conference match up winning 6-0.

To start the scoring for Dominican, Adrian Pituch found Garrett Boston on a through ball from eight yards out in the 25th minute to take an early 1-0. Five minutes later Boston and Pituch connected again before finding Jesus Lopez to extend the Stars lead to 2-0.

In the 35th minute, Rockford committed a foul in the 18-yard box allowing Vicente Castro to step up for the penalty kick and the Stars' third goal of the match. To end the half, Nick Kowalczyk made a long pass through the defense finding Castro who found the back of the net extending Dominican's lead to 4-0.

Castro registered the hat trick with a 49th-minute goal, again via a penalty kick before Giacomo Parrino finished the scoring barrage with the sixth Dominican goal of the match in the 81st minute off an assist from Elliot Allahverdy as the Stars won 6-0.

"The guys did a great job executing what we have been working on in preparation for this game," said Head Coach Erick Baumann. "I'm very proud of the team."

Dominican outshot Rockford 18-3 and 14-2 in shots on goal.

"It sure was different playing indoor but we have talked about being adaptable this spring," continued Coach Baumann. "The leadership on this team is strong and it's a tight group ready for whatever challenges we need to deal with."

The Stars will stay on the road next Wednesday, April 14th when they travel to Benedictine for a 6:00 p.m. match.
