Women's Soccer Earns Draw with UW-La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Dominican University's women's soccer team used a late goal to earn a draw at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse on Saturday afternoon.

Down 1-0 after a 52nd minute goal from UWL, DU never wavered and was able to equalize in the 80th minute. Hannah Anderson latched onto a ball from Regan Coxon and netted her first goal of the season to tie the match at 1-1.

Both sides were very competitive throughout with the shot total finishing at 17-13 in favor of UWL and 8-5 in shots on target. Dominican's keeper Ashley Ishman put on a solid showing between the pipes, racking up seven saves in 90 minutes of action.

Coxon had a team-high five shots, two on target, and picked up first point of 2021 on the assist to Anderson. Anderson also notched her first points of the season with her tally, scoring on her lone attempt on target.

DU has a quick turnaround as they prepare to do battle with Wartburg tomorrow, Sunday Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m.
