HOLLAND, Mich. – Dominican University's women's volleyball program dropped its matches with No. 6 Calvin College and Cornell College in straight sets on Friday evening.
Calvin
Emily Schellhase led the offense with four kills while
Morgan Parsons,
Mia Febles and
Keely McCallum totaled two each.
Charlotte Hain had a team-high 12 digs with one service ace.
Adeleen Dunker dished out six assists and
Olivia Mendell added three.
Cornell
The Rams took the first set, but Dominican battled in set two, falling 25-19. In the third set, both sides traded points for much of the frame with it tied at 23-all, but a late Cornell run secured the match.
Summer Smith had five kills, hitting a team-high .357, and added four service aces.
Gabija Sinickaite and
Maya Green were both solid offensively as well, finishing with six kills each.
Sarah Lychock anchored the backline with 20 digs. Dunker and Mendell finished with a combined 23 assists.
DU will play two more matches tomorrow, facing off with Muskingum and host-No. 9 Hope at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
