RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University women's basketball's
Alisha Markley eclipsed 1,000 career points in DU's defeat to Concordia Wisconsin on Tuesday night in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action.
Markley entered the contest just six points away from 1,000 and surpassed that mark with a layup in the third quarter. DU made a late push in the game, but were defeated 64-46 by the Falcons. Markley is the fifth player in Dominican's NCAA-era (since 2000) to surpass the 1,000-point milestone, last done by Timiya Ray during the 2018-19 season.
Stephenee Huggans finished with a team-high 17 points with Markley chipping in 16 in a full 40 minutes of action. Dominican shot 50 percent from three in the fourth quarter, making five triples in the frame.
Sophia Warner finished with six points, going 2-for-4 from deep.
